Our visa support team guides you through the process
Within 48 hours of accepting your AAoL offer, you’ll have your initial consultation with your dedicated visa coordinator. Together, you’ll review your specific situation, create a customized document checklist, and establish a clear timeline. Over the following weeks, you’ll gather all required documents—passport copies, educational certificates, financial documentation, photos, and health insurance proof. While we provide templates, examples, and ongoing review support. Documents requiring translation or notarization are built into your timeline, and we catch errors before they become problems.

Your coordinator reviews everything multiple times—checking completeness, accuracy, signatures, and compliance with current Dutch immigration requirements. We prepare your official AAoL support letter and institutional documentation. Only when everything is absolutely perfect do we approve your submission. You then submit your application to the Dutch embassy or VFS center in your country, attend your biometrics appointment, and we begin monitoring your application status.

We handle: Complete document review, institutional support letters, submission approval, initial processing monitoring
You handle: Final signatures, attending embassy appointment, biometrics, responding to any embassy requests
Your application processes at the Dutch embassy—typically 2-4 weeks for straightforward cases, sometimes 8-12 weeks during peak periods or complex situations. We monitor processing timelines and can reach out to embassies if delays extend beyond normal. Once your visa is approved, we immediately shift to arrival preparation mode: guidance on what to pack, what to expect at Dutch immigration, how to activate your residence permit upon arrival, and coordination with your housing team for move-in logistics.

We handle: Processing monitoring, embassy liaison when needed, pre-departure briefing, arrival logistics coordination, immigration guidance
You handle: Patience during processing, travel booking once approved, packing, arriving ready for orientation

Your assigned advisor knows your case inside and out. From first question to Amsterdam arrival, they proactively check progress, remind you of deadlines, and are available whenever you need guidance.
Every visa rejection we’ve seen could have been prevented—missing signatures, incorrect dates, insufficient proof. We review every document before you submit, catching errors and ensuring everything meets current Dutch requirements.
We maintain established relationships with Dutch embassies and consulates in your region. While approval is always the embassy’s decision, our institutional credibility and direct communication channels help facilitate smoother processing.
Urgent Visa issue? We're available around the clock
Visa processes don't keep business hours—embassy emails arrive on weekends, complications arise late at night, and questions don't wait. While our primary support operates during Amsterdam business hours (CET), we maintain 24/7 emergency availability for urgent visa situations.
Studying in Amsterdam is life changing, don’t let the visa prevent you from doing so. Leadership starts here.
A: Processing times vary by country—typically 2-4 weeks for straightforward applications, sometimes 8-12 weeks during peak periods or for complex cases. Your coordinator provides a personalized timeline based on your country and situation.
A: Visa rejections are rare when applications are properly prepared, but they do happen. If you’re rejected, we immediately review the rejection reason, help you understand what went wrong, and develop a reapplication strategy. We’ve successfully helped students overcome rejections and arrive for later intakes.
A: No. If an interview is required (uncommon for student visas), it will be conducted in English. We provide interview preparation guidance including common questions and what to expect.
A: You must prove you can support yourself financially during your studies. This typically includes demonstrating access to approximately €11,000-13,000 per year through bank statements, sponsor letters, or scholarship documentation. Your coordinator provides exact requirements for your situation.
A: Yes. Once you have your Dutch residence permit, family members can apply for tourist visas to visit you. Having a registered address in the Netherlands actually makes it easier for them to obtain visitor visas.
A: Your visa sticker in your passport allows you to enter the Netherlands. You’ll receive your physical residence permit card after registering with the municipality during your first week—we guide you through this process during orientation.
A: Previous rejections don’t automatically disqualify you, but must be disclosed. We help you prepare a strong application that addresses any concerns. Many students with previous rejections have successfully obtained Dutch visas with our support.
A: Complete visa support is included in your AAoL tuition. There are no additional fees for our coordination, document review, or embassy liaison services. You only pay government visa application fees (approximately €350-400).
